She is interested in ways that technology, especially machine learning and artificial intelligence can be incorporated into creative processes. At Ekho, Iina works on the interaction between humans and technology as well as develops collective artistic working processes.Įssi Huotari is a designer working on storytelling, information visualization and interaction design. Iina is a founding member of Ekho Collective, a group of artists, designers and technology professionals. Currently, she is working with a future researcher to study how we can embody the future. Iina has brought several different robots to her works, including a humanoid robot, a security robot, and a robot vacuum cleaner choreographing their movements. She explores the relationship between technology, humanity and corporeality in the era of posthumanism. Lina Taijonlahti is a Helsinki-based choreographer who works in the field of dance, live art and research. Although the end result exploits complex technology, the prototypes may range from building with Legos to rolling potatoes. Iina and Essi describe the methods and tools they use while working as a multidisciplinary collective. Interacting with each other and Laila the audience affects the mood and music in a way that flips traditional opera roles upside down. Choreographer Iina Taijonlahti and designer Essi Huotari from Ekho Collective will talk about the multidisciplinary creative process behind «Laila», an opera experience where the audience takes the center stage.
